YESTERDAY’S GULLS: Double Zine Launch
Yes, not one but two zines – The Gulls and I Am Still In Yesterday’s Clothes #8 – will be launched at Paper Moutnain this Friday March 30th. Alongside available copies of each zine, spoken word from contributors of Yesterday’s Clothes and acoustic music from The Gulls will be performed on the night. Our friends the Perth Zine Collective will be in attendance, their vast collection of self published goodies in tow! Hope to see you there!
About The Gulls: A comic-book biography, The Gulls documents a year in the life of the titular band and RTRFM reviewing duo, Mattie Aitken and Amber Fresh, through original illustrations by Tristan Fidler. The zine honours inspirational adventurers within the Perth music and radio scene, a follow-up to the previous Yesterday’s Clothes production of Greg Taw: Zine Wolf.
About I Am Still In Yesterday’s Clothes #8: In production since 2007, I Am Still In Yesterday’s Clothes is a semi-regular zine – or zournal rather, part zine and part journal. For this issue the theme was Transit: transportation of all forms! Contributing to this issue is a stellar line-up including Paper Mountaineers Kate-Anna Williams and Steven James Finch, PLUS Adam Trainer, Sam Knee, Leonie V. Brialey, Joseph Walsh, Janelle Mentesana, Anne Barnetsen, Giovanni Torre, Nicolas van Hattem, Thomas Blatchford, Catherine Sandow, Neel Lang, Sarah Fidler, Jarrad Robb, and Kristinn Hermanniusson. From buses breaking down on the hills of South America to chasing after an ice-cream truck, these stories about moving will move you into at least some emotional state or another.
Yesterdays Gulls: Friday 30th of March @ Paper Mountain, 6.30 – 9.30pm
